Downtown Fort Worth

Downtown Fort Worth is the central business district of Fort Worth, Texas. It’s home to many commercial office buildings and attractions in the city landscape. It didn’t start this way though. In the late 1800’s Fort Worth was named “cowtown” after many lines of cattle were driven through the former camp. Later the Texas & Pacific Railway arrived in 1876. This allowed for an oil and aviation industry to exist and bring wealth to the area. Eventually, World War two had become a growing problem. Fort Worth had returned to its roots as a military hub with the construction of the Fort Worth Army Air Field. Although Downtown Fort Worth has changed a lot over the years, it still continues to keep its heritage with places like the stockyards and the Naval Air Station Base still up and running.
