Coffee Lover's Guide to Fort Worth

Five store fronts for different coffee shops in each corner and a tea shop in the center.

Roots (Top Left), Summer Moon (Top Right), Avoca (Bottom Right), Black Coffee (Bottom Left), Leaves (Center)

You love coffee, I love coffee, we all love coffee. There’s nothing that cures a hangover (or helps cause one) quite like a cup of Joe.

Fort Worth has a number of fantastic spots for those addicted to a good latte. Across down town you have a plethora of options, we’ve compiled a few of our favorites into this guide to celebrate National Coffee Day.

And for all those that prefer tea, we threw in a coffee-free option just for you. Or head over to Funky Picnic for our new decadent stout beer made with Coffee, Peanut Butter, and Cheesecake!

Avoca Coffee Roasters

Avoca on Magnolia has a cozy vibe and provides a brief respite from the busy Magnolia shops. A Fort Worth staple that opened in 2011, Avoca is a great spot to read a book, study, or catch up with friends.

The atmosphere is calm and astute, and their beans are roasted at the original Avoca location on Magnolia.

Our Favorite: Fall Spice; Espresso, steamed milk, blend of fall spices

Black Coffee

Black Coffee on the Eastside of Fort Worth serves fantastic drinks that also tribute iconic black musical artists. The Raspberry Beret Latte winks at Prince and the Blueberry Hill Matcha Latte is a nod to Louie Armstrong.

A cool, sleek vibe and mouthwatering coffee; you are sure to find a new favorite drink at this east-side staple

Our Favorite: Cinnamon Honey Latte; espresso with local raw honey, cinnamon, and steamed milk

Roots Coffeehouse

Roots Coffeehouse seeks to strengthen the bridge between coffee and community. They take pride in sourcing items local, from their honey to their kombucha, Roots has endeavored to create opportunity (and great coffee).

Not only do they serve coffee, but they have a range of salads and sandwiches sure to bring a smile.

Our Favorite: Wildwood Latte (Fall Seasonal); house-made black walnut, maple, bourbon syrup with espresso and steamed Magic Mylk.

Summer Moon

This coffeehouse originated in Austin and has expanded to locations across the United States! This chain has a specialty sweet cream they call ‘Moon Milk’ that features in most of their specialty drinks.

This spot also offers coffee catering for any morning meetings that need a pick-me up!

Our Favorite: Mocha Moon; Half Moon with the perfect amount of dark chocolate steamed over espresso

BONUS: Leaves Book & Tea

Not everyone is a coffee addict, some people prefer tea! This spot is perfect for those who need less caffeine and more leaves in their diet.

Leaves doubles as a book shop, you can peruse the best sellers while your cup steeps.

Our Favorite: Herbal Sparkling Tea; concentrated tea brew, lightly sweetened and carbonated
